Discussion: Changing family and gender roles in Japan
Despite being technologically advanced, the Japanese society still maintains patriarchal family and gender relations. However, new phenomena and change are gradually taking place. For example, now more than 60 % of the people in Japan welcome same-sex marriage, and less people are planning on having children.
