Girls on Wire

Cousins Tian Tian and Fang Di were once close as sisters. However, due to the family’s financial problems and Tian Tian’s father’s drug addiction the two have become estranged. Five years later, Tian Tian seeks out the help of Fang Di with gangsters on her heels. Fang Di, now working as a stunt double, does her best to protect her cousin.

Vivian Qu (Angels Wear White) brilliantly sets half of the neo-noir story in movie sets and studio backlots. Wuxia fans will be particularly pleased by the depiction of wire stunts. The trio of incompetent gangsters in pursuit of the main characters provide a sprinkle of humor to the crime drama.
