Climacteric Woman

Sumin is a middle-aged woman who runs a bookshop and has a peaceful life with her spouse, but without children. When she enters menopause, she begins to question the choices she has made. Have some opportunities passed with no way of going back? Sumin’s best friends are facing hardships of their own: one struggles as a housewife with growing children, while the other is an independent woman navigating a tough job market and trying to keep up with trends. Climacteric Woman is a sympathetic film about a pivotal stage in every woman’s life, which has rarely received attention in cinema.
